Former BBC Advisers Participate in Parliamentary Grilling After Claims of Partiality in Unauthorized Memo
We start with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, that oversees the group.
She opens by offering background to the unauthorized document authored by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I do not desire the BBC tilting toward one side or the other, I just want it straight, unbiased and just," he declares.
In response to a query whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, he answers: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC creates is world class - both informative and fictional shows."
Nevertheless, he states: "There remains substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the BBC."
The second previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation adviser examined by the group, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the BBC with great importance and that it maintains a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" regarding evolving and intricate topics.
"Did the BBC ready to have a proper conversation and exchange and take action?" she asks herself. "In my view, yes they were."
