The win also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

His defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five points to go ahead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to force a third set.

He defended 4 initial break points in a close final set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
