Sovereign to Deliver First-Hand Address on His Health Battle in Television Programme

His Majesty has filmed a first-hand account about his experience with cancer, which will be broadcast as part of this year's fundraising drive, run by a leading cancer charity and Channel 4.

Official sources said the King would talk about his "path to recovery" as a person living with the disease, in a recorded address on Friday evening at 20:00 GMT.

The address, filmed within Clarence House recently, will stress the vital significance of routine screenings to increase the likelihood more people detect the condition at an early stage.

This will be a infrequent public commentary on the health of the Monarch, who has been receiving ongoing care since revealing his diagnosis in February 2024. But it is thought doubtful the King will specify his specific form of cancer.
